The legendary Sibirjak train (Сибиряк) connection gets shut down by the Russian Railways in December 2014, a over 5000km direct connection of Berlin and Novosibirsk. Boarding the last train and documenting the journey and its pace opened a magic gate of an different era. The soothing aspects of long train-rides, the “forced” doing nothing, white wooden landscapes, people, sounds, thoughts float in tranquility – and build up a poetic ark, getting lost in Siberia. Where nothing much happens, loosing the coupling of steel between two worlds while embarking on an inner journey reflects the material which makes the ride possible…
